I made it fairly large on purpose. I wanted it to be well seen by everyone in the classroom. That way when I do a Sound Check, they know exactly what the sound level should be. I plan to use a clothespin to designate the sound level. If the clip is on Table Voice, then only the members of their table should be able to hear their voices. Teacher Voice is their louder speaking voice. This is generally the voice they use when they are reading or sharing with the class.
I was actually inspired by 2 different teachers when I created mine. The original sound chart I had seen on Pinterest was this one by Katie at Little Kinder Warriors. In fact, I used this one last year, the only reason I decided to change it up, is because I wanted the chart to use the same wording/language I use in my classroom. But, hers is super cute-check it out!
The colors I used were inspired by Rebecca at Classroom Compulsion. I love her colorful Behavior Clip Chart! If you need one for your classroom, definitely check hers out-colorful and adorable! I have a super colorful classroom, and knew I wanted to use bright colors, too!
I had a request for a Body Level Chart (see comment below). I thought that was a great idea!!! So, I added it to this post. I put the Not Allowed symbol over Level 1-Asleep. My second graders should not be asleep! But, if you have young students that have a nap time, there is a sign that does not have the not allowed symbol. Thanks so much for a great idea, and hope it will work for you in your classroom.
